Bamboo - Not just for skewers anymore!

So last night the monkey and I went to Home Depot, seemingly our favorite store ever because we go almost every week.  We drove to the Depot of Homes in order to pay for 1014 sq ft of bamboo flooring.  Our order was 43 boxes of genuine engineered, solid 5/8" bamboo flooring in the color "Toast".  It set us back ~$1700, which includes 6.5% mass sales tax and $65 for delivery.

All in all, a really good price to complete our project.  The entire second floor of our house is this really old (read: crappy) stained beige carpet.  Not only is is ugly, I actually think it is the reason I wake up in the all stuffed up in the morning from the dust and fibers it generates.  Not to mention once we found a carpet beetle larvae-caterpillar-thing crawling up our brand new diy'ed headboard; those f*#kers will eat every natural fiber you own.  Gone gone gone is that carpet destined to go.

(Side note, you can see the original price of 43 boxes is way more than the $1551 we paid.  The monkey finagled a coupon, in addition to an anomalous discount we haven't been able to figure out the front desk added to our order.  Hey - I'm not going to complain about mistakenly paying LESS for something.  Home Depot gets enough of our money every week).

We will start our project this Friday, which I was graciously granted off of work.  We will follow up with pictures and tales of home improvement madness later in the week.
